Hey everyone! Welcome back to the Knapping Dragon Photography blog. This week, I am super excited to share a fun, laughter-filled shoot from this past weekend. I had the absolute pleasure of photographing local author David Knapp during a special recording session as a guest on the Did You Say Something? (DYSS) podcast.
Capturing the Magic of Podcasting
David was in the studio recording virtually with hosts Conor Lewis and Mat Mangum. They were wrapping up the recording of Chapter 4 from David's audiobook, How Not To Be an Exorcist In Another World, the first installment of the Combat Exorcist series.
DYSS is pure fun! It’s a variety podcast full of voice-actor chaos, games, guest spots, current events, and non-stop laughs. The production value is top-notch. Conor and Mat turn every recording into something special—professional yet hilariously entertaining. Watching David's genuine reactions (the big laughs, the shocked faces, the focused narration) while they brought the chapter to life was comedy gold! I was fighting back giggles the whole time behind the camera!
Behind the Scenes: A Day to Remember
Here are a few of my favorite behind-the-scenes stills from the session. These capture the real, unfiltered energy of the day:

I love projects like this because they let me freeze these authentic, unscripted human moments that make a story (and a podcast) unforgettable. It’s always an honor to help creators showcase their work through photography that feels real and alive.
A Special Thanks to DYSS Team
BIG SHOUT OUT TO CONOR AND MAT AT DYSS! You two are absolute pros at turning audiobook recording into an event people will actually want to listen to (and watch the behind-the-scenes of!). Your energy, professionalism, and ability to make even demon-fighting exorcists hilarious is next-level. I can't wait for the full episode to drop!
Save the Date!
MARK YOUR CALENDARS: The episode featuring this recording session (and Chapter 4) lands on March 6th. You're going to want to hear it! And as always, you can check them out every Friday as well. We have a blast in chat during the stream.
